We have been separated for more than 3 years now. We met on the sea shore as I danced with the waves while he watched from his boat, his eyes full of love and admiration. He knew he wanted me: ”it was love at first sight”, he said. I however did not see him watching. I was distracted by the sea and its noises.

                                       Chapter 1

The day after he first laid his eyes on me, he started to wait for my arrival in the early mornings. I would always go down to sea when my head was clouded and I needed fresh air.

That tended to be in the mornings, ever since I had lost my two little siblings. They had gone missing about four months ago and the police still hadn’t found them. They used to make a racket every morning before they went to school so when I heard the dull silence in my family’s house I couldn’t wait to get away.

I was on my way to the ocean once more when I looked towards the dock and then we locked eyes. His ocean blue eyes shone in the sunrise: his golden hair danced with the wind.

“Are you lost, sweetheart?”

He shouted with his deep voice. I was lost for words as he dropped the paddles he was carrying, then walked towards me. I was speechless until I finally shouted.

“WAIT!” he froze.

“Yes?” he said almost instantly.

My hair flowed like a boat sailing across the sea as he turned around to look directly at me with his golden eyes. We were silent for what felt like an eternity but then my voice finally cleared,

“Hi” as my voice cracked back to normal.

Silence again. He finally let out a small chuckle as we both turned in opposite directions. I ran down to the beach as he jogged back to his boat on the other side of the beach.

On my way down I stumbled down onto some rocks. I fell forwards, nearly bashing my head. I was about to hit the sand but I caught myself from falling. I regained my balance and cleaned my hands against my t-shirt.

I walked towards the patch of sand that I always dance on when I need a break from everything. When I dance I lose track of time. It helps me to distract myself from all my problems.

I stopped dancing as soon as the tide began to creep over the shore. My feet were covered in sand as I walked back towards the stairs where I met that handsome boy. Behind me waves threw themselves against an old, mossy wall; their sound was soothing and calming. I made my way up the slimy, wet stairs which led back up to the harbour. The cold ocean breeze whipped my hair across my face as I walked back to my house. My thoughts scrambled as I dreaded thinking about what was about to walk into. However, due to not paying attention, I took the wrong turn and ended up on the same dock I had met that really cute boy.

As I walked forward without a clue where I was going -too embarrassed to turn around- , I saw the same boy walking near to the exact same place we first met one another. We walked straight past each other as if we had never met before.

“Hey” he shouted.

I paused and started to turn around.

“Do you want to go on a sunset boat ride?” he asked.

I felt my cheeks turn pink as I fully faced him. We locked eyes and I saw how his eyes shone as brightly as the sun.

I walked straight towards him in a daze . Like I had no brain and wasn’t thinking straight. Just walked straight up to him without saying a word. I paused leaving a small distance between us.

“Sure” I blurted out in a questioning voice.
